Our deep studies program is a replacement of our retired 200 hour advanced yoga studies teacher training.  This program is for the aspiring yoga student who strives to go deeper into themselves via the timeless and alive teachings of yoga.  Owners James Nohinek and Ali Nohinek will be partnering up to co-teach this amazing journey of self transformation and healing.

Personal meditation and journaling is a major part of our program. The Yoga Sutras relay a very sophisticated understanding of the human experience and the mind. In order to relate fully with this text, a regular meditation practice is essential.

The body and mind exist as a whole. We can know this intellectually, but how much have we internalized this truth? This program will take you deeply into how you move and how you do not move and how this affects everything in your life. . We will explore how to move more efficiently in our yoga practice and in our daily lives. 

We will explore all six types of asanas or yoga poses: forward bends, back bends, twists, laterals, extensions and inversions. We will discuss how to use these safely and intelligently in your own yoga practice or your students (if you are a teacher or intending to teach.) 

The body will be explained in a language that is much more practical than anatomy terminology. (In the past I have taught bone names and muscle names and I have deemed that an ineffective use of time. :) 

We will cover the energetic effects of our stance/posture and how we can cater this to ourselves, our classes, to the individual, time of day and time of year. 

We practice a variety of breath control techniques and the use of bandhas(energy locks)

Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga and is a system of medicine and healthy living. Students will be guided in recognizing key Ayurveda principles in their personal life and their personal yoga practice. Students will also learn to integrate key ayurveda principles in sequencing a class or personal practice and how to apply these teachings to your day.


Our voice and our words are an essential part of who we are and how we orient ourselves in our reality.  Our voice can be full and vibrant or stifled and soft and everywhere in between.

Our ability to be our authentic self is reflected in our voice. Our ability to articulate our thoughts and our personal awareness is related to our voice.

This portion of the training will explore additional tools for meditation. These tools also serve to develop both our inner voice and our outer voice.

Elements of this portion include:

·      Mantra

·      Vedic chanting
